Goat Cheese, Fig, Honey & Zaatar Tartlets

Difficulty: Easy

Cooking time: 40 mins

For 6 people

 

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 shortcrust pastry 
  • 4 eggs 
  • 1 log of goat cheese 
  • 6 fresh figs 
  • 1 red onion 
  • 20 cl heavy cream (liquid) 
  • 1 tsp zaatar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey 

 

Ustensils:

 

  • Small tartlet molds   

 

Preparation:

 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). 
  2. Spread the pastry into the small tartlet molds.   
  3. Blind bake the pastry for 10 minutes. 
  4. Slice the onion thinly.  
  5. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the onion for 5 minutes. 
  6. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs. 
  7. Add the cream and whisk again. 
  8. Add the sautéed onions to the mixture and pour into the tartlet shells.   
  9. Slice the goat cheese log and the figs. 
  10. Arrange the goat cheese and fig slices on the tartlets. 
  11. Drizzle each tartlet with za'atar, honey, and a little olive oil. 
  12. Bake for 30 minutes. 

 

Serve !
